A Quiet Weekend Commences

Thus we have reached the end of the second week of class. Hopefully I’ll be in some sort of a rhythm by the end of next week... I’m pretty close...

This morning before class I stopped and had my fresh squeezed orange juice and a croissant. They don’t just bring it to me yet, but I think they are getting there...

My first class was an excursion today. We went to a Cloister that hasn’t been used for three centuries, and is now a museum. The architecture was very cool, but the galleries were even more amazing. I think I saw the Virgin Mary and the Baby Jesus about 200 times today...

After class I had lunch. Steak and cheese with peppers and onions... Which I determined is rather expensive, but it’s soooo good... It was 155 crowns for the sandwich, so its about 9 bucks and change... And the heartburn is worth it. Plus dinner was only 200 crowns, so I’m doing pretty well. More on dinner in a minute.

Photography was uneventful... I almost fell asleep just because I know a ton of the technical stuff they are teaching us. I just can’t wait for the projects. The teacher of my media criticism class couldn’t make it today, so class today was wrapped up by watching a movie... or at least an hour and 20 minutes of a movie that runs 2 hours 10 minutes... it was called “Being There.” Cool concept. I do want to see the end, but already know how it goes... Thank god for Wikipedia.

I ate dinner alone while reading for my American lit class. Dinner was a piece of tender pork wrapped in “English Bacon.” As opposed to what? Canadian Bacon? Czech Bacon? American Bacon? Why not Israeli Bacon?

Who the hell knows.

Tonight everyone left for Berlin, or Munich, or Austria... So I’m one of a few that are left in the building. So I rented an iTunes movie for 4 bucks and watched “Hitman.” Good flick if you like to see things blow up.

Since I enjoy watching that kinda thing, it was fun.

At any rate I plan to get lost in Prague tomorrow and find my way out... Or at least my way home. I have to try and find a store in another part of town... Something caught my eye on our way out of town to northern Bohemia...

Hopefully I can find some friend who is still here so I don’t have to eat alone for the next 3 days... but it could be good for me... I have a ton of reading to do!

By the way the picture at the top is from the Cloister courtyard that we visited this morning. I think it’s a lemon tree.

Maybe it’s a Czech Lemon Tree...

As opposed to an English Lemon Tree, or an Alaskan Lemon Tree, maybe a Turkish Lemon Tree...

Who the hell knows.
