The Americzech Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

We had an amazing dinner tonight, and it was an all around good day. FUNNY day.

For starters, in Art and Architecture: We all knew the date the Titanic sunk, but can never remember the start and end of an artistic period. And the professor said the funniest thing, as he is writing on the board he goes, “and I don’t know why I’m writing this, but I seem to be doing it anyway.” He was writing something simple and completely not pertinent to much... SO funny.

During Lunch: I go to a paper store to try and get BLUE printer paper for the invitations for the Prom. After waiting 20 minutes, the woman speaks only Czech, which is fine... But even with the colors I know, and the numbers, and alphabet (which should be enough to by friggen paper) I walked out with ONE sheet of blue paper, instead of ONE hundred. Don’t even go there.

In Photography: I drifted off again, mentally; half-asleep, half-awake stuff. The professor was talking about Edgar Allen-Poe... and said, “someone in this class thinks Edgar Allen-Poe is crazy, but he’s asleep right now.” He then fell silent, as I was coming out of my trance like state. I cocked my head, and he said, “were talking about Edgar Allen-Poe.” and I responded with, “that crazy bastard?” Not realizing that he had already poked fun at me for not paying full attention in his class. Also funny.

On the tram ride home: I sprint for the number 11 so I don’t have to wait another 10 minutes in the cold. I get on, and this girl is fixing her hair. She flings it around and slaps me across the face. I make a wincing gesture, as to protect my eyes, and then smile at what had just happened, while her friend, tells her in Czech what she just did. She turns, giggling, and apologizes in Czech. I smile and giggle back. Also pretty funny.

And dinner tonight was amazing. Open bar. Everyone was stuffed with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cookies, pie, veggies, beer, wine, and God knows what else.

A good party over all.

But now it’s 1am and Turkey Dinner Syndrome (TDS) is kicking in... So I’m going to bed soon.

Again, Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
