A Crash Course in Prague

So I discovered what the instrument they were playing at the 100 Gypsy Violins the other night... its called a Cimbalom... It’s basically an open face piano that you hammer with hand held mallets, rather than pressing a key that pulls a mallet, striking the string... The picture courtesy of Google...
Today I worked on homework. All day. This morning I had to go into the Old Town to pick up tickets for this weeks musical events, including tonight’s concert of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin... I guess that means the Berlin Concert Orchestra... They were amazing. I need to procure a program to discern what they played so I can download it from iTunes.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. First I had my one class from 6 to 7:20... and the concert started at 7:30... I was close enough but I knew I was going to have to leave early... I packed light... i.e.: no backpack, or sunglasses so as to not have to worry about those things when I arrived at the concert. In class I was supposed to give, and I quote, “a substantial oral presentation” on the topic of naturalism in the “Blue Hotel” by Stephen Crane. So I gave my 25 minutes... after which the professor proceeded to add 50 minutes of other information that I may have missed...
I wonder what she’s going to give to me for a grade...
Then I scampered off to the concert... Maybe I’ll add a separate entry describing all the music I’ve heard here, but not right now... It’s a busy week so far.
After the concert I had dinner with Alexis. It was nice to have company at dinner... and as usual, the pork was amazing.
Tomorrow I have to go the Prague Castle for my first class... should be very cool. Hopefully I’ll have some good pictures to share from that. I also have several other things to take care of tomorrow, not the least of which is my visa so I can go to Moscow in mid-October...
Ohhh the visas...
And I’m currently missing the first night of network television... Heros and Big Bang Theory tonight... and tomorrow is House... SNIFFLE. I’ll make it thru... courtesy of iTunes and Mom...
