I Live in a Petri Dish.

Welcome to College.

So I guess this is the picture of the day. So let’s just start with that...

This guy is way up working on the finial on the top of the spire... I can see Nemec up there now..

Now to the more... Pertinent news...

I’m Sick.

I know that I’ve been sick in the head for years, but I’m really not doing physically well here. I’m going to find the cough medicine tomorrow... Hopefully.

So I didn’t sleep much last night as a result of all this coughing. I fell alseep somewhere between 2 and 2:30am and woke up at 5:30, unable to fall back asleep. So I got up, wrote in my journal, and studied for the test that I had no intention of sudying for otherwise. That brought me to about 6:45. I went to climb back in bed, hoping that I wouldn’t start coughing again, but to no avail. I threw myself out of bed, put some pants on, grabbed my fleece jacket and went for a walk in the park behind the building.

I ended up watching the sunrise over the hills in the distance... It was much less romantic than it sounds, as I should have been sleeping... and I was coughing the whole time.

I wandered around the park, finding myself under a chestnut tree, collected a pocket full. At least one person stopped and looked at me like I was crazy... I put the chestnuts in a bowl and put them on the table in the common room.

Everyone wants to know if they are edible...

I showered and headed off to school... My commute began with a lovely Columbian couple on vacation trying to find the Old Town Square. Since I was heading that way I lead them to the astronomical clock. They were extremely grateful.

I walked off to the bank to pick up some cash, 4800kc... 4000 for the deposit on the apartment that I was going to see at noon (inspecting for the family) and 800 for spending money this week.

I ended the day with a 5 kc coin...

I walked back to the NYU center and picked up my ticket for tomorrow nights concert, and went to class... After the quiz that I’m sure I did at least OK on, I bugged out 5 minutes early so I could meet the woman who is renting the apartment to my family for the 9 days we are here in December. I scurried across the Charles Bridge, dodging tourists like I was a linebacker running for the end zone.

The apartment met my standards, and I gave her the down payment. Now it was back over the bridge to have lunch. But as I was walking down the street something caught my eye in an antique store. I peered through the window and the proceeded to walk onward, before thinking, “heck, I’m only here once” and turned around and walked into the store.

I walked out several minutes later with a new... or old piece of equipment in tow. I can’t say what because it’s a gift for someone who reads this blog...

I headed off, picking up some chocolates along the way... A peace offering for the staff in the NYU center... I can be troublesome. Lunch was a bacon, egg, and cheese on a bagel. I ended up picking it apart and eating it in pieces. My heath wasn’t helping the process.

After lunch was photography. The instructor insisted on trying to talk to me while I was trying to count the minutes of development. I’m way too dyslexic for that... The negatives came out good. So I must have counted correctly.

After media criticism I decided to make an effort to get my ISIC card from a local travel agent. I failed at that, so I have to go back tomorrow with the form signed, stamped, blah, blah, blah. I also swung through Tesco to pick up a teapot. I figure its easier to make a pot than 5 individual cups... Which is what I seem to be drinking 3 times a day. Push those fluids!

I also stopped by to pick up my negatives from the photo store. I have posted new pictures of Kutna Hora in the photo albums section.

Anyways, that’s more than enough for now... I’m off to bed soon... To try and sleep tonight.
