A Crash Course in Prague
The Calm Before the Storm
I didn’t want to get up again this morning. But I did. At least the shower was hot today.
I scurried off to class, briefly running errands between class before grabbing lunch at Incontro, an Italian place just outside Wenceslas Square. It was more of a sit down meal, but I had reading material. The minestrone soup was excellent, and the pork, as always, fantastic.
In photo we had a guest speaker. A “visual artist.” All I wanted to do was visualize the inside of my eyelids. His art, if you can call it that, was strange at best... Creative yes, but downright out there.
After my media class I had to hang around for the Russia meeting. I went out and picked up my pictures that were scanned, and dropped off another roll of film for development, grabbed a sausage in Wenceslas Square, and then wandered back to the NYU center to read Time and MacWorld.
In the pre-Russia meeting we talked about all the important things, and got a brief history of Russia. It made me remember why I am so curious about Russia, and why I love what they stand for: they let you live your life as you want to live it. I’m so excited to live within that atmosphere for the 4 days that I’m there.
I suggested missing the plane home. Tania (the trip organizer) didn’t seem too enamored with the idea. So maybe I’ll just come back on-time.
Tomorrow I have to go pick up my dry cleaning, pack, go to class, take a quiz for another class (that I’m missing because I’m in Moscow), pick up more pictures, and God knows what else. Tea time at 3:15 hopefully.
Go Sox. Sorry I’m not staying up until 4:15 to see the start of the game... Crazy, not stupid.
By the way, the picture at the top has nothing to do with anything. It’s way back from Northern Bohemia. I’m working on updating the pictures page, so it should be up and running soon.
