Sunday: Get Stuff Done

As much of this city is closed down on Sunday, it’s quickly becoming my day to go to the store and chores around the apartment.

Since the grocery down the street isn’t closed, I went shopping for the essentials. Apple juice, cookies, and chips... and bread.

After lunch I did the second load of laundry in as many days. I seem to be on the “do laundry twice a week” schedule. It has its benefits: smaller loads, wrinkle less, dry quicker... but its fundamentally more expensive... 20 kc per load, or about $1.11.

Homework was also on the menu for today. It was nice and quiet because almost everyone was at the zoo. I opted not to go even though it is rated number 7 of the top ten zoos in the world by Forbes...

My question is: When the hell did Forbes start rating zoos?

Anyways back to homework. I had to read the play “Antigone” and no surprise, everyone dies. I finally figured out how to pronounce the name of the play... Ann-tig-an-ay. not anti-gone. I managed to fall asleep with my pen in my hand.

But I finished it. And everyone died...

I’m now working on the case report for it, among other projects... I feel like all I’m doing anymore is reading and writing. The summary from northern Bohemia was 2200 words. And I’ve been writing extensively for 2 weeks. It’s quite fun, but at the same time very time consuming.

I worked on my photo essay: the ten best things about Prague, and the ten things I miss about home for a little while today. Hopefully that will be done mid-week for your viewing pleasure.

I also got to talk to Jessica tonight via video chat. It’s great to see her. We were finalizing the plans for Rome... and decided we’re also going to Florence for a day. I have to see the Santa Maria de Fiore... I just have to.

Dinner tonight was frozen pizza... It was pretty good, except for the fact I didn’t have a cookie sheet to heat it on. So again my improvisation skills came in handy by lining the oven rack (which is solid) in aluminum foil... It worked great.

One class tomorrow. Nothing too crazy on the ticket. Have to have my pictures developed. That’s going to be a crazy conversation in Czech and English. The dry cleaners is also on the list of places to find... And I want a “gentlemen's umbrella.” You know, one with a wooden shaft, curved handle, and metal tip to use it is a cane of sorts...

I do miss my cane sometimes...
