A Crash Course in Prague
It Rains Here Too.
My day started in a lurch. The phone rang at 7:45 this morning. a solid 10 hours and 15 minutes before the start of my first class. To my surprise it’s Myron. And after being disconnected once, we are able to make dinner plans for tomorrow evening.
I then wrote an incredibly long email, and decided to go back to bed.
Woke up around 11:45, and made it to school by 1ish. I was able to procure two tickets to tomorrow evening’s concert with the Liverpool Philharmonic. I also have tickets to an opera in a week, and another concert this Friday. I’m excited for all this music!
I ran out to the a photo place I found and had them process my film. Should be ready by tomorrow afternoon, so maybe there will be some more pictures from Bohemia up later tomorrow evening. I also made an excursion further down the street to a designer shoe store to get a “gentleman’s umbrella.” Success at last. It was only 600 kc.
On my way out I had a sausage from one of the stands right along the square. Aside from the ketchup that found its way down to my left pant leg, and then transfered to the one on the right... It was a good sausage.
It was then back to the NYU center for more reading, and class. Now I’m home for more reading and writing. But as you can tell by the picture at the top I have animal crackers to keep me company... or Zoo Biscuits?
To each his own.
One thing I do have to say is Prague is majestic at night. They have mostly gas street lamps in the Old Town, which throw a really romanic light...
It’s stopped raining for now. I did get to wear my rubbers today... you know the ones that go over your dress shoes. The work like a charm.
