Wait, What’s Going on?

For the record, the first 8 hours of my Thursday morning are on my Wednesday blog... They rolled together...

So I went to bed at 8:30, fully intending to get up around 11. Which didn’t happen. But 1pm worked... Barely.

After showering I blew out to see my folks quickly, leading them to lunch, before running off to meet my professor at 3, who was able to arrange a tour of the Czech Television studios.

For all you TV people out there, It was really cool to see how they do it over here, which quite frankly, isn’t all that different. I was only able to snap one picture before my digital camera died (oh well), it is printed at the top. They had Avid editors, Sony switchers (older ones, MVS-7000) and Studer analog audio consoles. The newsroom operated on a program called Octopus 5, as opposed to iNews. The other major difference was that the IFB’s were black and bulky, as opposed to our smaller, clear ones. The control room was pretty relaxed looking overall, nobody was overly excited. The graphics were Quantel Paintbox systems... At least that’s what I remember from everything...

Anyways, I met up with my family, bringing them back to my homeland (Nusle) for dinner at a Czech pub. And then I sent them on their way, back to Malá Strana, for the evening, as I wasn’t even close to move out yet.

Then most of the dorm congregated in my room and lit candles. We sang songs, and listened to a song written by Max about the Microcosm. Alexis stopped by as well to say goodbye as her flight was at 7AM. Sometime around 3am I decided I needed to sleep... But I knew I was to be woken every hour as people were leaving.

So to keep with the sleep to awake ratio, it’s 5 hours sleep to 14 hours awake... but yesterday was a 24 hour day... So I’m still not right...
